When Leaven Rising LLC partnered with a nonprofit organization managing a federal Department of Labor grant serving justice-impacted youth in rural Arkansas, the initiative was in a critical state. Two years into the three-year grant, enrollment had stalled at just 34 participants—far below the 160 enrollment goal—and several other required outcomes were also failing. Meet ShanonShanon Middleton is a consultant and executive leader with more than two decades of experience leading national programs and guiding teams toward high-impact results.The Mission
Working closely with organizations navigating growth and change, Shanon noticed a recurring gap: many organizations have a bold vision but lack the operational capacity or infrastructure to fully realize it.Bridging the GapLeaven Rising LLC was created to bridge that gap. Through a flexible fractional model, Shanon provides the executive strategy and leadership capacity organizations need to strengthen operations and achieve sustainable, high-impact results.
Where it all began
Shanon’s commitment to this work is deeply personal. A native of Eudora, Arkansas—a community where resilience and resourcefulness are a way of life—she saw firsthand how leadership, strong institutions, and opportunity shape a community’s trajectory. She earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies from the University of Central Arkansas and later completed a M.Ed. in Adult Education with a focus on Workforce Development from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. These roots shaped her conviction: introduce bold vision to strong operational leadership and strategy, and organizations RISE to their full potential.
